A New Name, Same Service
Why did I decide to change the web site name?
First off, my company is still FJB consulting&design (see fjbcan.com), but the web and graphic design side of my business has grown and become the major focus of my work. So I decided to do a complete redesign of the site and give it its own "presence" on the web.
I still like the term Innovations, but it was being used by many other companies and thus could not be a stand alone web address. As well, my email name 'indesign' is also the name of an Adobe software package. So I've changed the business email name to 'bydesign' (the old name still works as well). I also decided it was time for a completely new web site name for the design work.
Inspirations
As I reflected on my design style I realized that I always seem to start with some sort of inspiration, often a color scheme that speaks to me about who the client is or what they want to communicate on their web site. For instance the new Inspirations by Design site is based on a picture of foil wrapping paper that appealed to me and the butterfly reflects a new beginning for my work.
The domain WebnSpire.com was more difficult to create as I wanted it to be unique, but catchy. It came about after a good deal of brainstorming and checking out available domain names. I think it works quite well and I hope you do too. I'd be happy to hear what you think about the new name and web site.
Cheers, Faye
Inspired by....
As with many web designers, my design work has evolved through the years and I now design using only CSS and a text editor (Notetab) for clean html and fast loading pages. I use a bit of Java, but am inpired by design gurus such as Stu Nicholls (find his columns at webreference.com) and Eric Meyer who are pushing the edge of CSS design. You can see Eric's work at css/edge. The popup images on the samples page are based on his design ideas as are the transparancy elements on the FJBCAN site.
